HyLo – Hydrogen Logistics
HyLo is Sweden’s first system-demonstration project for hydrogen-powered freight, deploying 23 heavy-duty trucks in commercial logistics flows. KTH's focus is on resilience, and we will explore that through using system dynamics.
HyLo is Sweden’s first system-demonstration project for hydrogen-powered freight transport. The project brings together organisations from across the hydrogen logistics value chain to deploy 23 heavy-duty trucks from Scania and Volvo in commercial operations. Real-world trials will evaluate vehicle performance, hydrogen distribution and refuelling infrastructure while generating knowledge for integrated system development. HyLo also addresses cost reduction, standardisation, safety and resilience, including the operation of refuelling stations during power outages. By connecting and testing the wider hydrogen ecosystem, the project aims to accelerate market uptake, support fossil-free transport and strengthen the competitiveness of Sweden’s automotive industry.
In particular KTH's researchers will focus on hydrogen's and hydrogen truck's role in a resilient transport system and society. We will generalize and apply a participatory framework developed for public transport in a previous project, and aim to build a simulation model using System Dynamics.
