We're thrilled to announce the successful conclusion of the Junior Researcher Community Mentorship Program, a one-year initiative that connected JRC members, primarily PhD students, with top industry experts in their respective fields.

At the closing event for the Junior Researcher Community (JRC) Mentorship Program, mentors and mentees came together to reflect on their journeys and highlight the valuable lessons they learned. It was a truly inspiring moment that showcased the power of mentorship in shaping future leaders.

26 people (13 pairs) participated in this round of the mentorship program. The closing event also served as an opportunity for mentors and mentees to share their experiences and key takeaways from the program.

One mentee expressed: ”This was a great opportunity for me to widen my viewpoint about future careers. I learned that a future career is not linear and would be dynamic.”

Another mentee said: ”His mentorship program was a perfect match between mentees and mentors. My mentor works in the industry in the exact same area I am doing research. She has become my best role model, guiding me on my career path. Additionally, we collaborated on writing articles together, benefiting both of us.”

A mentor highlighted, ”It was also a great opportunity for me to stay up-to-date with the latest research in the field and to connect with fresh researchers in the field.”

The JRC Mentorship Program was a one-year initiative that connected JRC members, primarily PhD students and junior researchers in transportation, with top industry experts in their respective fields. The program fostered meaningful discussions on research topics, career paths, and personal insights. Due to the great feedback that we got from the first mentorship program, we plan to repeat it again as soon as we have enough new members for the community.

Stay tuned for more updates and opportunities within our JRC community. If you're interested in joining us, we welcome you to be a part of our community!
