Elsa Voorsluijs, from the province of Gelderland, Arnhem, the Netherlands is involved with the pilot on self driving public transport, Wepod , that the province has initiated. The Wepod is the first autonomous vehicle on public roads in the Netherlands.

For Dutch standards the province of Gelderland is a 'green' province with a relatively large rural area and the countries biggest national park, the Veluwe. It has three major cities (with 150.000 - 165.000 inhabitants) within its boundaries and shares borders with Nordrhein Westfalen Germany.

Elsa will introduce us to how the project evolved, what motivates the province to run this project, the way it is organized, the challenges that are met and the research questions for the next phase.
