Scania’s ITRL Affiliation Transitions to TRATON GROUP

Marking a New Chapter in our Collaborative Innovation

As of July 1, 2025, Scania’s affiliation with the Integrated Transport Research Lab (ITRL) has officially transitioned to the TRATON GROUP. This change signifies TRATON’s commitment to continue and deepen its engagement with ITRL, fostering collaborative innovation in sustainable and integrated road transport systems.

The TRATON GROUP, encompassing brands such as Scania, MAN, International, and Volkswagen Truck & Bus, brings a wealth of expertise and a global perspective to ITRL’s mission. This expanded partnership, in which Scania will remain in the forefront, opens avenues for broader collaboration across TRATON’s diverse brands, enhancing the center’s capacity to address complex transport challenges.

Ulf Ceder, Senior Research Leader at TRATON , and co-director at ITRL added, “By aligning under the TRATON umbrella, we can facilitate more integrated and comprehensive research initiatives. This move enables us to address global systemic challenges in transport with a unified approach.”
