The aim of the transition to electric buses is to contribute to better air quality, reduced noise, increased energy efficiency and an attractive and climate-neutral Stockholm region. By analysing electric bus technology and impacts of a switch to electric drive-trains, this study decided by the County Board in February proposes how buses in the region could gradually be electrified with a limited and acceptable amount of risk and cost.
