Governing strategies for MaaS in Nordic Cities

In recent discussions and research on Mobility as a Service (MaaS), the role of public sector actors in securing societal aims and objectives has gained increased attention. In the Nordic countries, governments at national level and regional levels have come to apply quite different policy strategies.

At this breakfast seminar, we will provide an overview of current developments in the governance of MaaS by looking at the approaches taken by public transport authorities across six Nordic city regions, and in the cases of Helsinki and Stockholm draw out more in-depth insights in terms of national and local measures to develop MaaS. We also highlight some key governance aspects of importance in terms of whether MaaS is to contribute to sustainable accessibility and mobility.
